Wales Voice Over

Born in Swansea. Raised in Pontypridd. Based in Cardiff.

The adventure started at The Oxford School of Drama, where - against their better judgement - I was trained as a fully-fledged luvvie. After that, I toured theatres for a few years, performing mostly new plays, with a couple of Shakespeares thrown in to torment me. But just as the voiceover work started to take off, I came to a life-changing realisation: I looked dreadful in tights.

Stage work was put on hold to focus on voice work, and since then... woah... where to begin? It's been an exhilarating rollercoaster of talking, some more talking and bouts of laryngitis. I've voiced all sorts of exciting stuff, including glossy commercials, government campaigns, audiobooks, corporate and explainer videos, museum audio guides, on-hold messages and meditation apps. My voice was used as the first-ever Welsh digital text-to-speech voice - featured on Alexa, on SatNav devices and in Welsh train stations - so I've probably told you your train was running two days late.

Alongside a past life as a BBC Newsreader (I'm still not sure how that happened), you might've also heard me as a live TV & Radio announcer for BBC1 Wales, BBC2 Wales, S4C, BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio Cymru - the full Welsh continuity bingo card! Some other highlights... a bilingual Santa, an excitable robot, a toothless pub landlord, and a parrot for a children’s storytelling app!
